where the body invites us to inhabit a world connected to both the perceived reality of our physical existence, and to the fantasies projected by our imaginations. Dance Training After leaving Dartington her exploration of movement developed through a continuing relationship to BUTOH dance- Anushiye trained with artists such as Tetsuro Fukuhara, Minako Seki, Tadashi Endo, Yuko Kaseki, Yumiko Yoshioka, Atsushi Takenochi, and Ko Murobushi. This training incorporates Noguchi gymnastics- movement sequences based on the forms of figure of 8 and wave- the emphasis on effortless, natural movement which occurs through the spine and the body- ‘ both hanging from the earth and hanging from the sky’- a 2 way receptiveness to gravity rather than a muscular resistance against it. As well as approaching dance from an improvisational perspective, she has also studied Classical Indian dance, Tai Chi, Ballet, Capoeira, Argentine Tango and Break dance. Yoga has formed an integral relation to multiple through and its transition between everyday life and work dance. In 2008 Anushiye received a training award from the Arts Council of Wales, to attend Impuls Tanz Festival in Vienna, attend workshops in a variety of dance forms, Ballet, Release techniques, Modern, Jazz and Forsythe Repertory. Developing an eclectic approach to dance that connects contrasting and often contradictory movement perspectives through the figure 8 and to body wave forming sequences through a natural continuum through sensation and response. Teaching Experience From January to August 06 Anushiye led a dance and theatre workshop in participation with theatre practitioners at a prison for young male offenders outside Berlin, creating a performance based around Edgar Alan Poe's short story “The Tell Tale Heart”. During March 05, ran a performance workshop for children aged 11- 12 years old at Awards During 2004 received 'Creative Wales Award' from the Arts Council of Wales. Institutes In 2006 Anushiye became Associate artist with the Centre of Performance Research in Aberystwyth. During August 2007 was resident artist at TUPAC ASOCIACION CULTURAL in Lima, Peru.
