Davida Hewlett - “BUBBLE WRITING"

An attempt to create a performance lecture exploring 'what is heavenly love?'
whilst looking after her daughter and lots of other things. She hopes to pose
questions to and present answers from an 'expert' panel including an altruistic
and very active Christian who finds joy in helping others; a furry-legged singing
feminist with a PHD on Kate Bush; those closest to the heart ... possibly a bit of
singing and dancing thrown in. Davida Hewlett is an artist working in variable
combinations of video, performance, writing, and music.

Her work is often playful and humorous, context responsive and collaborative.
Recent projects include An End to Isolation and B.O.R.N. with Paul Granjon and Tom Hobson.

Known to Chapter as the artistic director of Tokyo’s Yubiwa Hotel
(previous shows including Candies – Girlish Hardcore and Exchange),
Shirotama Hitsujiya’s work aims to seek and suggest new views and images of society, the world and women. Her performances focus on human desires, sexuality, violence and the instinct for food, life and death. In 2006, she was named by Newsweek as one of Japan’s 100 most influential women.
