Performances
*In 2006 Anushiye launched ANIMAL LOVE PROJECT, which brings together artists with a diverse range of
performance practices who examine the continuous flux of human identities though the question of Animal
and the anthropomorphic subject of love. The project is a continuing enterprise, committed to the generation
of process based performance works which operate as microcosmic evolutions, which interrogate the identity
of a human being, through the question of animal and the mysterious, insubstantial force of love.
*Anushiye was resident artist at the CCA in Glasgow with artist Birgit Binder, who set up the project Varsity of Manoeuvres-
re-navigates the body through the urban environment. The project includes re-contextualizing pole dancing as an outdoor
urban activity for all sexes, ages and genders to watch and participate in. The residency hosts performances and activities
which liberate pole dancing from its bipolar gender roles and transform the civilizing tendency of society to enclose and
privatize human activity. The project explores the dynamic tension between individual expression and the decentralization
of the individual in dialogue with inside and through centrifugal forces, which become explicit through the act of pole dancing.
