Bear Ongoing dance and performance ritual. Performed at Chapter arts Centre in Experimentica 06 And at Aberystwyth Arts Centre 06. And TUPAC collective of artists in Lima, Peru, in August 07 At Chapter Arts Centre November 07 And THE CENTRE OF PERFORMANCE RESEARCH, in Aberystwyth, Tokyo Theatre DIE PRATZE August 08. as part of ANIMAL LOVE PROJECT. BEAR, still continuing its emergence, began life through a series of incidents that occurred through a bear costume first created by a much loved friend, to wear himself for a New Years Eve party.	There was a love affair and there was the Bear. The Bear was a he or at least was the skin for a he And after he left, that skin was all she had left. She wore it sometimes So the Bear became a she.
Somehow this costume seemed to collude with the love affair and the universe in a strange and transformative way.
		Bear also has a life outside the stage as a pilgrimage to Peru to visit the grandfather of Anushiye’s friend, a Curandero who lives in the mountains. This is recorded in the documentary film ' Bear- The Wanderer.'
Dancing, and living through this costume evokes a world that opens between memories and premonitions, the question of animal and the mysteries of love.

I don’t know what love is. Something from childhood. From where we begin to be. An instinct. Recurring dreams of being a child, and of wild or fantastical animals. The unfocused eyes of a child hold a creature promise of our animal origins. Becoming human somehow seems like a process of separation. The picture word books for children are often of farms, jungles, zoos, cats and dogs. Are children more susceptible to the creatures who weren’t? Cast out of Paradise? To mould children in the human image we identify the animal ‘other’ and rear them into a civilized wilderness, their cuddly animals cannot save them. Nature as Elsewhere. Where we begin and where we are going to. A beyond. Unconditional love.
