| DUET WITH SHOPPING TROLLEY. The structure of the piece takes an alternate solitary version, of the Pas de Deux dance between the man and the woman in ballet. The performance interweaves and morphs the distinct yet synchronized male/female roles idealised by the the illusary romance of ballet. A symbiotic fairy tale collusion between the weightless floating bellerina in suspension on one point, often half bird or spirit and the emblematic male hero, watchful, softly stalking her. The choreography ttransforms this constructed fantasy world through everyday interactions - re-enacting, transforming interactive memories of touch and embrace in the mobile solitary caged space of a shopping trolley. |
